  • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MAZDA CONNECTED SERVICES ?

    Enabling Connected Services is like having a personal assistant for your Mazda. The MyMazda app lets you access your vehicle's health report, remotely start your engine, lock and unlock the doors and trunk, and a lot more — all through your mobile device.

    The 2022 Mazda MX-30 EV comes with additional features unique to our first all-electric vehicle. These include charging station locator, remote charging start and stop and remote climate control.

    All Connected Services are complimentary for the first two years of ownership.

  • WHAT BENEFITS COME WITH CONNECTED SERVICES REMOTE FEATURES ?

    Connected Services utilizes a built-in cellular data connection between your Connected Services-equipped Mazda vehicle and your MyMazda smartphone app. Once configured, users have access to a range of helpful and intuitive features from virtually anywhere, including:

    • Monitoring vehicle status: whether or not doors are locked or unlocked, headlights are on or off, trunk is closed and locked, etc.
    • Remote start from much farther away than key fob-activated remote start systems
    • Vehicle Finder function to more easily find your vehicle – especially helpful when parked in large, crowded parking lots
  • WHICH VEHICLES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH CONNECTED SERVICES ?

    Connected Services are available on the following models:

    • 2021.5 Mazda CX-5
    • 2021.5 Mazda CX-9
    • 2022 Mazda MX-30 EV

    Other models to feature Connected Services have yet to be announced.

    *Note: Connected Services features may differ slightly by car line.

  • HOW DO I KNOW IF MY MAZDA IS CONNECTED SERVICES COMPATIBLE ?

    All 2021.5 Mazda CX-5, 2021.5 Mazda CX-9 and 2022 Mazda MX-30 EV vehicles (all trims) are compatible with Connected Services. Signal strength can be checked on the Mazda Connect centre display. Confirm compatibility on the Mazda Connect home screen by going to Navigation or Entertainment and finding the telematics icon at the bottom right of the screen.

  • ARE CONNECTED SERVICES AVAILABLE ON MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES ?

    Yes, Connected Services features are available on manual transmission vehicles. However, the remote engine start/stop feature is not available for manual transmission vehicles.

  • WHEN WILL THE FREE CONNECTED SERVICES TRIAL PERIOD BE ACTIVATED ?

    At time of retail date.

  • DO CONNECTED SERVICES FEATURES DIFFER DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE ?

    Yes, depending on the vehicle, Connected Services features may differ slightly. Refer to your vehicle’s Connected Services Owner’s Manual for more information on the specific features available for your vehicle.

  • WHAT IS MYMAZDA ?

    MyMazda is an app that provides you with information about your vehicle, such as its service history and manuals. It can also help you find a Mazda Dealer or get updates about recalls. With a Connected Vehicle, you can also contact roadside assistance using the MyMazda app, and access many other features like remote controls, vehicle finder, and the ability to send a destination to your car.

  • WHAT DEVICES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE MYMAZDA APP ?

    The MyMazda app requires:

    • iOS 10.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
    • Android 7.0 or later
  • CAN I USE MULTIPLE DEVICES FOR THE SAME ACCOUNT ?

    Yes, you can connect multiple devices, but only use one device at a time. For security purposes, when you log in on a new device, the app will automatically log out all other connected devices.

  • HOW DO I REGISTER FOR MYMAZDA ?

    Registering for MyMazda is simple. To register and make the most of Mazda Connected Services, simply follow the checklist below.

    1. Download the MyMazda app from the Apple App Store® or Google Pay™ to a compatible mobile device.
    2. Open the MyMazda app.
    3. If you don’t have a MyMazda account, tap Register to get started with MyMazda account registration.
    4. Enter your email address, then tap Next.
    5. Enter your phone number, then tap Next. A validation code will be sent via SMS.
    6. Enter the SMS validation code in the MyMazda app, then tap Submit.
    7. Enter your personal and account information, then tap Submit to create your MyMazda account.

    MAZDA TIP
    Once received via SMS, your validation code will only be valid for 10 minutes. If the code expires you will need to start the registration process again.

  • HOW DO I ENROL FOR CONNECTED SERVICES REMOTE FEATURES ?

    To enrol for Connected Services Remote features, you’ll need sit in your vehicle, open the app, click Add vehicle, then scan and validate your car’s VIN. More detailed instructions can be found in the following checklist.

    1. At the Select vehicle screen, tap Add Vehicle and follow the onscreen instructions to add your vehicle.
    2. At the My Vehicles screen, tap Enrol to enrol in Connected Services.
    3. At the Connected Services Enrolment screen, tap Start.
    4. Switch the ignition ON in your Mazda vehicle. Then, tap Next.
    5. Tap Request to receive an authorization code on your vehicle’s Mazda Connect centre display.
    6. Enter the authorization code into the MyMazda app on your mobile device and tap Submit.
    7. After enrolment is complete and your vehicle is connected, you’ll receive a push notification.
  • HOW DO I ACCESS THE “MY VEHICLES” SCREEN ?

    You can also enrol in Connected Services via the My Vehicles screen on the MyMazda app. Here’s how to get started.

    1. Tap the hamburger menu in the upper right-hand corner of the MyMazda app screen.
    2. Tap My Vehicles.
    3. Tap Enrol for the vehicle you’d like to enrol in Connected Services.
    4. Follow the instructions on screen.
  • HOW DO I USE REMOTE FEATURES ?

    Connected Services provides several remote features that take convenience to the next level – all accessed from the MyMazda app home screen. To get started, tap the REMOTE icon on the bottom menu bar. An Engine Start/Stop button will appear in the middle of the screen, along with icons for LOCK, UNLOCK, LIGHTS ON, AND LIGHTS OFF.

    Note: It may take up to a minute for remote features to activate.

    Engine Start/Stop
    Make the cabin comfortable before getting into the vehicle by starting the engine with the same climate control temperature setting, as when it was last turned off. To use:

    • Tap and hold Start to run the engine for between 15 and 35 minutes
    • Tap and hold Stop to turn the engine off

    MAZDA TIP:
    For security reasons, remote engine start/stop will not operate if the fob is in vehicle.

  • HOW DO I LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOORS ?

    If you forget to lock the vehicle doors, you can lock them without having to return to the vehicle. They can also be unlocked for passengers near the vehicle who do not have a key. To use:

    • Tap and hold the LOCK/UNLOCK icon to lock and unlock the doors from anywhere you have cell service.

    MAZDA TIP:
    For security reasons, remote door lock/unlock will not work if the engine is running, the door is open, or the fob is in the vehicle.

    Lights On/Off
    Turn the hazard lights on remotely to help locate the vehicle at night. To use:

    • Tap and hold the FLASH icon or LIGHTS OFF icon to flash the hazard warning lights for a certain period of time.
  • HOW DO I VIEW VEHICLE STATUS ?

    Vehicle Status helps to keep you informed about the current condition of some of your Mazda vehicle’s systems, right in your pocket, at your fingertips.

    How it works:
    To view vehicle status, tap the STATUS icon on the bottom menu bar. The Vehicle Status Preview window will pop up at the bottom of the screen, displaying any active vehicle status alerts, as well as your current fuel level and odometer reading.

    Note: Vehicle Status is not updated in real time, and may take several minutes to refresh.

    For more detailed vehicle status information, including tire pressure and a summary of vehicle status information, pull up on the carat icon (^) to view.

  • HOW DO I VIEW VEHICLE STATUS NOTIFICATIONS ?

    If an out-of-the-ordinary vehicle occurrence is detected, such as unlocked doors, hazard lights on or an open trunk/liftgate, Connected Services will send you a notification on the MyMazda app. To view the issue, tap the notification.

    NOTE: Notifications will also pop up on your smartphone’s home screen.

    MAZDA TIP:
    Your vehicle status will only update after the engine is stopped.

    Fuel/Odometer
    Check your current fuel and odometer information from anywhere. Your current fuel level will appear at the top of the MyMazda app home screen.

    Tire Pressure
    Check your tire pressure for all four wheels.1

  • HOW DO I USE VEHICLE LOCATION SERVICES ?

    For added convenience, Connected Services can help you locate your vehicle – a feature that’s especially helpful in crowded surface parking lots. It will also let you send points of interest directly to your vehicle’s Mazda Connect display, to help plan routes ahead of time.

    Sending a route to your car
    The Send to Car function will set up routes ahead of time, so they appear on your vehicle’s Mazda Connect display. Here’s how to use it:

    1. Tap the SEARCH icon on the bottom menu bar.
    2. Search for and select a destination to send to the vehicle.
    3. Tap Send to Car.
    4. The destination will automatically be sent to your Mazda.

    MAZDA TIP:
    Swipe left on a POI to pull up the Send to Car shortcut.

    Note: Send to Car requires an optional dealer-installed SD card navigation accessory.

    Finding your vehicle
    Vehicle Finder will display the location of your vehicle on a map, and let you honk the horn and flash your hazard lights for easier identification in crowded locations. Here’s how it works:

    1. Tap the MAP icon at the top right of the MyMazda app home screen.
    2. Tap the MY CAR icon on the map screen.
    3. Tap the vehicle name to display detailed location information.
    4. Tap Flash Light to honk horn twice and flash hazard warning lights 10 times.

    MAZDA TIP:
    If your vehicle is parked in a location with weak radio signals, like an underground parking garage, location information may be incorrect or unavailable.

  • HOW DO I VIEW THE VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT ?

    For enhanced peace of mind, Mazda Connected Services allows you to view your vehicle’s health report, including active maintenance alerts, when to get an oil change, engine oil levels, tire pressure status, maintenance alerts, and more. To view your Vehicle Health Report, follow the instructions below.

    1. Tap the SERVICE icon on the bottom menu bar.
    2. The Vehicle Health Report window will pop up at the bottom of the screen.
    3. Pull up on the carat icon (^) for detailed vehicle health information. If you need to schedule service at your preferred Mazda dealership, tap the Schedule Service button to schedule an appointment, (if a preferred dealer is set).

    Note: Vehicle Health is not updated in real time and may take several minutes to refresh.

  • HOW DO NOTIFICATIONS AND ALERTS WORK ?

    If a vehicle malfunction is detected, Connected Services will notify you via the Mazda Connect display, and via your MyMazda app. If an alert is shown on your vehicle’s instrument cluster or Mazda Connect display, you can get the detailed information you need right inside your vehicle.

    NOTE: For more information on receiving notifications on the instrument cluster and Mazda Connect centre display, refer to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.

  • HOW DO I ACCESS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ?

    If you have Mazda Roadside Assistance coverage, the MyMazda app can provide you with a link to on-road support, via the Mazda Canada Roadside app.

    To contact roadside assistance:

    1. Tap the HELP icon.
    2. Tap Roadside Assistance.
    3. Roadside Assistance will be called automatically.

    What to do if a vehicle malfunction is detected:

    1. Tap the alert to view details.
    2. Tap Request Roadside Assistance.
    3. Roadside Assistance will be called automatically.

    NOTE: You will need to download and install the Mazda Canada Roadside app before using this function. Search: “Mazda Canada Roadside” in your app store.

  • HOW DOES AUTOMATIC 911 DIALLING WORK ?

    In the event of a moderate or serious collision, your Mazda can automatically take appropriate measures, such as calling emergency services. In the event this occurs, an Emergency Assistance Call notification will appear on the Mazda Connect screen.

    NOTE: Automatic 911 dialling is available without a subscription to Connected Services.

    MAZDA TIP:
    The Emergency Assistance Call setting must be enabled in the Mazda Connect Settings menu for it to function as expected in an emergency. Refer to the Mazda Connect Owner’s Manual for more information.

  • IS THERE A SUBSCRIPTION FEE FOR CONNECTED SERVICES ?

    Connected Services is complimentary for the first 24 months of vehicle ownership. After the complimentary period, there will be a subscription fee.

    NOTE: The subscription fee after the complimentary period has yet to be determined.
