Mazda Triumphs with the Most Safety+ Top Pick Awards for a Single Brand

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently unveiled the winners of its 2024 Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards, regarded as the most prestigious accolades in automotive safety. Mazda is proud to stand among the most awarded brands, with five of its vehicles clinching the coveted Top Safety Pick+ award.
The Mazda3, Mazda3 Sport, and CX-30 from the 2024 model year earn the 2024 Top Safety Pick+ award when equipped with optional front crash prevention technology. Additionally, the CX-50 (built after August 2023) and CX-90 also receive the Top Safety Pick+ award with standard equipment. The 2024 model year CX-90 PHEV secures the second-most prestigious award, the Top Safety Pick.
The stringent criteria for the 2024 awards set higher standards for protection against frontal and side impacts, as well as for accident prevention, particularly in scenarios involving pedestrians during both daytime and nighttime. IIHS President David Harkey emphasized that "this year's winners truly stand out, offering the highest level of protection to both vehicle occupants and other vulnerable road users."

The IIHS is an independent, non-governmental organization specialized in safety testing and funded by the insurance industry.
